Gloria O’Shields is an award-winning writer based in New Mexico. She is published in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Gloria has been featured on national television, public radio, and in newspaper articles. Her major works include: Quinn’s Quest and We Shall Be Heard: Women Speakers in America. She is currently working on a mystery set in New Mexico.
While still in elementary school, her appreciation for books was inspired by the Nancy Drew mystery series. She can’t claim to have read all the books but they ignited her curiosity and assured her girls can do anything.
Her novel, Quinn’s Quest, is a lighthearted tale of a middle-age woman’s journey to self-discovery and romance. It reminds the reader that sometimes in life you have to go out on a limb – because that’s where you find the fruit. Quinn’s Quest has received recognitions in the categories of chick lit and romance.
As co-author of the scholarly work We Shall Be Heard: Women Speakers in America, she spent several years researching and bringing together important speeches by women who have made significant impacts on the cultural, social, and political history of the United States.
Gloria is a member of several writing groups including Sisters in Crime, Farmington Writers’ Circle, San Juan Writers Critique, and Writers’ Chat. A graduate of the University of Southern California, Gloria also holds a Master’s Degree in Communication from California State University.
